The Site is published by SecureCoding, the editorial desk behind the SecureCoding name (we, us). Contact: contact@securecoding.com or the contact form. These terms replace older notices on this host that named White Source Ltd. That company does not operate this Site.
Guides, snippets, diagrams, and lists are general information for defenders. They are not legal advice, not a security assessment of your systems, and not a promise that a control will stop an incident. You are responsible for testing any snippet in an environment you own, for licenses of third-party software we mention, and for compliance with law that applies to you. If you need counsel or an engagement, hire someone under a separate contract. We do not form a client relationship by you reading a page.
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that content is complete, current, or free of defects, or that the Site will be uninterrupted or secure.
To the fullest extent the law allows, SecureCoding and its authors, contractors, and hosts are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising from the Site or from your use of a snippet, even if we were told the risk was possible. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to fifty US dollars (USD 50) or the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, whichever is greater. Some places do not allow these limits. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum the law allows. You use defensive examples at your own risk.
You may not use the Site to break the law, to attack a system you do not own or have written permission to test, to probe our hosts, to scrape in a way that degrades the service, or to send malware or spam through a form. You may not impersonate us or imply we endorse your product. Articles are written as defense. You may not treat a “prove it” script as permission to run it against a third party.
Unless a page says otherwise, we own the text, diagrams, and site design. You may quote a short excerpt with credit and a link. You may reuse a code sample in software you ship, at your own risk, without paying us. You may not copy an article wholesale, train a commercial model on the full archive without permission, or remove attribution from a substantial quote. Trademarks of other projects remain theirs.
If you send a comment, form message, or correction, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that material to operate and improve the Site, including publishing a correction. Do not send confidential information or anyone else’s personal data you do not have a right to share. We may refuse or delete a submission.
Pages link to GitHub, vendor manuals, Hacker News, and other sites we do not control. Those terms and privacy practices are theirs. A link is not an endorsement.

You will defend and indemnify SecureCoding against claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from your misuse of the Site, your violation of these terms, or your use of a snippet on a system you did not have the right to change.
We may change these terms by posting a new date on this page. Continued use after a change is acceptance. We may suspend or stop the Site. Sections 3, 4, 6, 7, and 10 survive.
These terms are the whole agreement about the Site. If a court strikes one clause, the rest stays. A failure to enforce a clause is not a waiver. We may assign the Site to a successor publisher. You may not assign your obligations. For a notice that the law requires we receive in writing, email contact@securecoding.com and we will give you a postal address if one is required.
